Barcelona Bakalao is a multicultural improvisation rave project, started by Diego García (former vintage synthpop performer), Dimitry Ghost (8bit/electro dj from Moscow) and Owen Meyers (experimental electronica from Canada). The group serves as a platform for improvised dance music. Inspired by 90s raves, 80s acid house, 70s electronics, synthpunk, eurodance, etc. as well as absurdist ideas of dada-rave music. Artists perform on various analog synthesizers, casios and the innovative Tenori-on.

Io Casino: Like artist, since the late eighties this sound and visual creator has developed a wide range of works of artistic, visual and sound experimentation. She has released 9 official records and a number of participations on internacional compilations. All of her work is self-directed. In the last ten years she has performed and show his art in France, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, Italy, Argentina, Portugal, India and the United States. On the last 13 years, she was produced & promoted more than 750 live show’s. She has been active in mentoring and in the Local Artists’ Network for many years, fostering and encouraging artists, presenting their work in public and creating reference and exchange models among them.

Barcelona Bakalao és un projecte multicultural d’improvisació rave, nascut de la unió de Diego García (antic instrumentista de synthpop vintage), Dimitry Ghost (dj 8bit/electro de Moscou) i Owen Meyers (electrònica experimental de Canadà). El grup serveix com a plataforma per a la improvisació de música dance. S’inspira en les rave dels noranta, l’acid house dels vuitanta, l’electrònica dels 70, el synthpunk o l’eurodance, així com en una absurda idea de música rave-dadaista. Utilizen varis sintetizadors analògics, casios i el novedós tenori-on.

Io Casino: Com artista sonora i creadora, des de finals dels 80 ha desenvolupat un ampli treball d’experimentació artística, visual i sonora. Ha editat 4 discs en solitari dos amb DEDO, un directe i diverses participacions a compilacions internacionals. La totalitat de la seva obra és autogestionada. Els últims 12 anys ha interpretat la seva música a: França, Polònia, Alemanya, Hongria, Suïssa, Itàlia, Argentina, Portugal, Estats Units i India. Fa tasques de mentoring i de Xarxa d’Artistes Locals fa anys, promovent i animant artistes, fent visible la seva feina, creant models de referència i d’ intercanvi d’experiències entre elles i ells.
